Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.)

  • What is Mr. Slim’s Ductless Split Technology?
For many years, ductless air conditioning systems have been the quiet solution for cooling and heating problems around the world. Mitsubishi’s popular and proven A/C system has three main components: an indoor air handling unit, and outdoor condensing unit, and a remote controller. These units are easily connected by refrigerant lines running through a small two to three inch opening in the wall or ceiling. The outdoor unit cycles the refrigerant through the lines to and from the indoor unit, where the air is conditioned and distributed into the open space. Depending on the series, indoor units come in a variety of styles and can be installed in compact or tight spaces on walls or recessed into or suspended from ceilings.

  • Why should I consider a Mitsubishi Mr. Slim ductless split air conditioning system?
Mitsubishi Electric is the industry leader in ductless air conditioning technology. Their innovations have defined cutting edge technology since 1968. Compare, and you will see no one surpasses Mr. Slim’s performance for quiet, easy-to-use, and energy efficient operation. And since their ductless technology carries the Mitsubishi Electric name, you know every unit is built to last. The bottom line is that Mr. Slim delivers the ultimate control of comfort for your home or office.

  • How reliable is Mr. Slim?
Mitsubishi Electric designed Mr. Slim to be one of the most reliable air conditioners available. Because every major component is designed and manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric, the system operates optimally to give years of worry-free performance. In the United States, we only deal with about ½ of 1 percent failure rate – this is NATION WIDE!! The A/C Industry averages around 4 percent. The reason for this can be explained by the fact that most other A/C products on the market are manufactured with components and parts from an assortment of manufacturers. This can also affect the product’s reliability and longevity.

  • How efficient are Mitsubishi Mr. Slim’s?
With Mr. Slim, efficiency can be measured by the following ways: its rated energy efficiency and the zone conditioning proposition.

Rated Efficiency: Mr. Slim models are all tested and rated against Air Conditioning Institute’s (ARI) guidelines for unitary air conditioners and meet the minimum Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ration (S.E.E.R.) of 13.0 S.E.E.R., as set by the Department of Energy. Mr. Slim models are available in 13 to 17 true S.E.E.R. When comparing S.E.E.R., there is one key factor to consider. Because Mr. Slim’s indoor unit is in the space being conditioned, there is no duct-loss as with central air conditioning systems. Duct-loss means that energy is lost as air is forced through ductwork. Though there is not currently an agency that measures this loss, it is commonly agreed to be around 20%! Mr. Slim INVERTER Models operate at very energy efficient levels due to the variable speed operation of the compressor in the outdoor unit. All Mr. Slim models run between 13 to 17 true S.E.E.R.

Zone Conditioning: Zoning is a more efficient way to air condition a home. True zoning means that you can tailor individual rooms to your personal comfort tastes. Perhaps you prefer it cooler in the bedroom or kitchen. Also, if you do not use your guest rooms, dining rooms, or bonus rooms regularly, why cool them day-in and day-out? By not conditioning these rooms all the time, you save money ($$)!
